About Angella Okawa
I grew up with engineers in my family, fluent in logic and systems thinking before I had words for it. I also happened to be the one everyone came to when things got complicated between people. That tension between the analytical and the relational has shaped everything about how I work.
How I got here
I didn't start in coaching. I started in startups, navigating the chaos of early-stage teams. I loved the energy, but I kept noticing that the hardest problems weren't technical. They were human. Brilliant people talking past each other. Teams stuck in patterns no one could name. Leaders who were great at the work but struggling with the people.
So I went deeper. I trained as a therapist, studied how people actually change at the level of the body and nervous system, and practiced meditation for over two decades. What I found was that real change doesn't come from tips and techniques. It comes from understanding your patterns, building capacity in your body, and learning to stay present when things get uncomfortable.
Now I bring all of it to leaders and teams who are ready for more than surface-level development.
What it's like to work with me
My style is warm but direct. My history and training allow me to quickly see patterns, dynamics, and what’s not being said. Clients say they feel seen in a way that’s both challenging and safe. I will help you see what I see and build your own skills to address it.
If you're curious about your edges and ready to do the work, we'll fit well together.
Background & Trainings

Integrative Enneagram Practitioner

The Integrative Enneagram
I often make use of the Enneagram in my work. Many assessments describe behavior, but the IEQ9 reveals the underlying core motivations, fears, and defense patterns that shape how we lead, collaborate, and get stuck. With 27 distinct subtypes, the insights are specific enough to be genuinely useful.
For teams, it creates a shared language for navigating difference. Instead of "you're difficult," we get "I understand what you need and why my approach lands wrong for you." For leaders, it offers a development path grounded in self-awareness rather than imitation. That's the only kind of growth that actually sticks.
